Malti Shah

BSc (Hons) Acupuncture, Lic.Ac., MBAcC

I have over 10 years’ experience in complementary and alternative medicine. My journey in healing started in 1996 when a family friend who was diagnosed with skin cancer asked me to help in the wellbeing process. A few years later on my travels in Tibet I came across integrated medical practice where Chinese medicine was used along with western medicine which led me to study traditional Chinese medicine at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.

Since gaining my licentiate in acupuncture I have continued to explore the diversity of treatment approaches including Japanese style acupuncture using gentler techniques with much finer needles and superficial needling which is great news for needle shy patients and children.

I have also collaborated with World Medicine (UK Charity) to set up an acupuncture project in India. The video shows some of the great results we achieved.

I treat a wide range of conditions with particular interest in the areas of gynaecology, fertility support, IVF assistance, musculoskeletal pain & injury, digestive disorders, migraine headaches, anxiety, insomnia, cosmetic acupuncture and cancer symptom support.

Special Interests

Pain & Injury

Both Japanese Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) provide a versatile range of techniques for addressing pain related conditions. Rather than the traditional symptom-based approach, we address the underlying causes of pain using a patient-centered approach addressing the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.

Fertility Support

Our treatment approach, whether trying to conceive naturally or with IVF includes fertility acupuncture, mind body stress reduction tools, fertility diet and lifestyle changes to effectively treat a whole range of fertility challenges, including:

  • Egg Quality
  • Sperm Quality
  • IVF Support
  • PCOS
  • Advanced Maternal Age
  • Recurrent Miscarriages
  • Unexplained Infertility
  • Male factor Infertility

Almost one in six couples experience fertility problems. Studies show that while 40% of the time infertility is the result of female factors, 40% of the time it’s also the result of male factors and 20% of the time the result is of a combination of both women and men.

How does cosmetic acupuncture work

Cosmetic Acupuncture & Dermatology

I trained with Virginia Doran the leading US expert and practitioner in the use of acupuncture for facial rejuvenation and use her facial acupuncture protocol to achieve a natural, non-surgical face lift.

Cancer Support

Through work in the Charity Sector (North London Hospice, St. Luke’s Hospice) I have experience in supporting patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Acupuncture can be a great support alongside your conventional treatment to help you through the physical symptoms and emotional strain of cancer treatment*.

congruously * Acupuncture is not a replacement for conventional treatment and we work alongside your GP & oncology team with their support
